Colchester is the former capital of England and Britain’s first recorded town. Well known for its Norman Castle built-in 1070's on the foundations of a Roman Temple, you can discover artefacts that are over 2500 years old and enjoy the enchanting grounds. Colchester is most definitely worth a visit for many reasons; the history is plentiful in architecture, churches, towers, charming little cottages, cobbled streets and wonky walls.
